The guidelines were developed by researchers and clinicians at BHVI and the Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Centre, China.
Incorporating the latest evidence-based knowledge, the guidelines remind practitioners of the different stages of assessment and treatment of myopes and include:

- Assessment of risk for onset and progression of myopia
- Management strategy – factors to consider
- Follow-up – frequency and procedures

Myopia Calculator
The BHVI Myopia Calculator is designed to bridge the gap between research data and the end user. The tool shows the various management options / scenarios and demonstrates the possible benefits, over time, of starting to treat myopia progression.
