Collaborative opportunities for ocular comfort

Sydney, Australia, 10 July 2017: Brien Holden Vision Institute and CCLR based at the University of Waterloo recently came together in Sydney to discuss collaborative opportunities for ocular comfort.

Researchers at Brien Holden presented their novel ocular comfort model under the catchphrase ‘yoghurt for the eye.’

This model is based on the concept of reconstituting and maintaining a healthy ocular microbiome or bacterial community on the ocular surface to reduce dry eye and improve contact lens discomfort.

Professor Lyndon Jones and Dr Lakshman Subbaraman outlined the research capabilities of the CCLR that would support the clinical studies being carried out at the Brien Holden Vision Institute in a truly collaborative approach to solving the problem of ocular discomfort.
