POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH

Brien Holden Vision Institute offers postgraduate researchers the opportunity to work alongside the world’s leading vision scientists in first-class facilities.

Collaborating with us to complete a PhD will give your research an opportunity to flourish as we are focused on research that has the potential to lead to commercialization and deliver real world outcomes. We have the resources, expertise and commitment to take promising research findings to the next level.

The organisation has a strong history of fostering, mentoring and supporting outstanding graduates enrolled each year at Australian tertiary institutions in cross-disciplinary fields. We offer financial support to promising students by way of supplementary postgraduate scholarships and generous project funding.

PhD students at BHVI are supported by BHVI supervisors and are provided a workspace and other office needs at our Sydney office located at the UNSW campus. Hence, students are exposed to research in a working environment while maintaining and developing their university connections.

Our areas of research are cross disciplinary and include research in the ophthalmic industry, engineering, biological sciences, psychology and public health.

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY

Postgraduate funding is offered to high achieving students who are eligible to be enrolled in a PhD program at an Australian university.

Recipients are generally required to be Australian Citizens or hold Permanent Residency status. However, the organisation would consider overseas candidates, provided they meet Department of Immigration and Citizenship policy guidelines and provide evidence of their eligibility to be admitted to an Australian university.
