Sight is a fundamental right for everyone, everywhere. Our mission is to develop new solutions for vision care and eliminate vision impairment and avoidable blindness, thereby reducing poverty and suffering.

More than 1.22 billion people are unnecessarily blind or vision impaired simply because they don’t have access to an eye examination and a pair of glasses.

Our passion for science and innovation is driven by the pursuit of knowledge, development of beneficial new ideas and technology, and compassion for all humanity. Our global behaviour is influenced by local and cultural understanding and the core principle of sustainability.

Funds raised and donated by the public go to support and carry out eye care service delivery, education and training programs in developing communities across the globe.

Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation is an active member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and adheres to the ACFID Code of Conduct which defines minimum  standards of governance management and accountability of development for member non-government organisations.
