It’s the sixth year of Myopia Awareness Week, and this year, we want you to get more people into the clinic for regular eye exams.
With growing evidence showing that myopia starts from school age, we need your help to educate parents and children about the importance of regular eye exams and preventative measures they can take to reduce likelihood of myopia onset and progression.
Early intervention makes all the difference so as part of Myopia Awareness Week 2026, this year, we are championing three clear actions:
“Each year, we are reaching more and more clinicians, increasing the awareness of myopia and its afflictions to eye health, as well as the opportunities clinicians have in preventing, managing and stopping myopia with their patients.
It’s important we press on, pushing the message to the community that this disease is here, and there’s something you can do about it.”
Yvette Waddell, CEO, BHVI
A range of different resources from leading organisations and groups in myopia management have been collated for use in your practice to help educate, treat and manage myopia in patients.
